What Power Apps licences are required? +
Power Apps for Microsoft 365 (included in E3, E5, Business Standard and Premium) covers apps that use SharePoint Lists and other Microsoft 365 data sources. The Power Apps per-user licence (€20/user/month) is required for apps that use Dataverse, premium connectors or custom connectors. We calculate the licence requirement during the process analysis phase.
Can Power Apps work offline? +
Yes. Canvas Apps can be configured for offline use with automatic synchronisation when connectivity is restored. This is essential for industrial applications used on factory floors, field service apps in low-connectivity environments, and tablet inspections in warehouses or construction sites. Offline capability requires specific data architecture choices at design time.
How do you handle data security in Power Apps? +
Power Apps inherit the Microsoft 365 security model. Data in Dataverse is subject to role-based access control at the entity and record level — users only see the records they are permitted to access. We design the security model during the data architecture phase and test it explicitly before go-live. For GDPR compliance we implement data retention policies and audit logging for sensitive operations.
Can Power Apps replace our current system (e.g. a paper process or a legacy application)? +
In most cases, yes — that is the primary use case. We have replaced paper-based inspection processes, Excel-based tracking systems, email-based approval chains, and legacy Access databases with Power Apps solutions that are faster, more reliable and easier to maintain.
What happens if Microsoft changes Power Apps and our app breaks? +
Microsoft maintains backwards compatibility for Power Apps within each major platform version. Our support contracts include monitoring for platform change announcements, testing of client apps against announced changes before they roll out, and remediation of any compatibility issues.
